Power Holosmith-Class Guide

The Power- is a burst-heavy class that supports your team with very good -application and strong CCs.

His greatest strength lies within fights with short phases and regular short interruptions by phase changes, in which the can reset his initial burst. Selective adjustments of the traits and the rotation also allow the to adapt very well to longer fights.

Due to a naturally high crit-chance through traits, this build does not need a „&B/gDAAA=“-buff and thus allows other DPS-classes to occupy one of the popular spots in the subsquad of the /.

Furthermore, the Power- can be played in teams, in which otherwise only Condi-DPS classes are present beside it and has the possibility to buff them even more offensively by a personal DPS loss.

Rifle vs Sword

Every -player is faced with the question of whether to play with a rifle or a sword. Basically, the different builds are very similar in terms of DPS and it’s largely up to your own preference what you want to play. Of course, the builds are sometimes better and sometimes less well suited for different situations, so you should keep the following things in mind when making your decision:

  • For the sword 3 different builds (listed below), which gives the player the opportunity to prepare for any given situation
  • The highest possible burst-damage for the is possible with one of the sword variants.
  • The highest possible sustained-damage for the is possible with one of the sword variants
  • Having many different build variations means a much higher learning curve for rotations
  • Sword builds can take a shield offhand for more CC, without losing too much DPS and without being dependent on other classes
  • Due to the autoattack-chain, all sword variants have a more difficult rotation than the rifle-build
  • There is only one build for the rifle
  • You only have to learn one rotation (the non-exit rotation is only a situational variation of the exit-rotation) and it is relatively easy and repeat itself quickly
  • The rifle-build is an allround build which can be used everywhere
  • The rifle variant does a good amount of burst-damage (not the highest possible) and a good amount of sustained-damage (not the highest possible)
  • The rifle can cause more -damage in a shorter time, but you are dependent on from a team member, if you don’t want to get too much personal DPS loss from “self-CC”
Overheat vs Non-Overheat

Especially for the sword builds it is important to decide before the fight whether to play the with the grandmastertrait „&BxAIAAA=“ (PSM) or „&B1kIAAA=“ (SMVK).

Principally, you only have to ask yourself one question: “Does the boss have pause- or phases, in which i can restore my heat, to start the burst-rotation all over again?”

Overheating with &BxAIAAA= is best suited for fights that consist of regular bursts with short interruptions, while the &B1kIAAA= is designed for longer, uninterrupted fights.

In conclusion:
Based on the considerations in the sections above, there are 4 possible builds:

  1. Rifle PSM –  THE allround build, which can be used everywhere
  2. Sword SMVK – the standard sword build, which achieves good results especially in long fight and causes the highest sustained-damage
  3. Sword SMVK Mines – a slighlty burst-heavier build that attempts to combine the sword’s continuous damage with the burst of the mines
  4. Sword PSM Mines – THE burst build designed to either end the battle after the initial burst or start a new phase and prepare for a new initial burst until the next damage phase
General Tips

You can precast “&BlkXAAA=” in every situation. You should never try to delay your “&BrqnAAA=” build, because the main damage of this build is the “&BrqnAAA=“. It only makes sense to delay it for a short time if you are using the burst damage for an intermediate add.

There are 2 possible ways when and how you should use your Tool-Belt-Skill „&BrOkAAA=“. Firstly, you have to be careful with your „&B0oIAAA=“ trait, which causes you to deal more damage the more heat you have. Since you can use the skill “&BrOkAAA=” only once per rotation, you should always use it at 100% heat. On the other hand, it might be worth to delay this skill if there are a lots of adds present. With every add, you gain one more projectile using „&BrOkAAA=“ and if you stand in the hitbox of the boss when you activate the skill, each projectile will hit the boss once, which can increase the damage caused by this skill fivefold.

Use „&BrUWAAA=“, „&BrIWAAA=“ and „&BiIYAAA=“ (when you play with &BroWAAA=) on cooldown. You should only use „&BlqnAAA=“ and „&BhmkAAA=“ when you are above 50% heat. When you play the rifle-build you should not use „&BgoYAAA=“, unless you get from you team. You should NEVER interrupt the autoattack-chain from the sword or the photon forge (unless you play the rifle exit-rotation to leave the photon forge at around 50%).

Traitvariations

&B8AHAAA=:
This trait buffs your subsquad with 100 condition damage per player, but you will have a high personal DPS loss. Therefore, in most cases this trait is only worth it, if your sugroup, except for yourself, consists only of condition DPS classes.

&B1kIAAA=:
Use this trait if you have long uninterrupted battles ahead and want to increase your build to more “sustained damage”. However, you will have to adjust your rotation and switch from the rifle build to the sword build.

Skillvariations

&BuEWAAA=:
If you don’t need to support your team as much with CC skills, but conditions are causing you a problem, then you can replace your &BptUAAA=-heal skill with „&BuEWAAA=“ and have access to AOE condition removal, an AOE heal, a water field and an explosion finisher.

&BhEYAAA=:
In VERY short-lived battles (e.g., , Fractals of the Mist), you can replace your &BroWAAA= with „&BhEYAAA=“, in your sword-build. Before battles and in phase changes, you can precast both the main skill mine and the tool skill „&BhQYAAA=“, to ensure the highest possible burst during damage phases.

Caution: The boss phases should be short enough, so you don’t have to begin the rotation a second time after your initial burst.

    If you start with 0% use &BiyuAAA= until you can use &BvKtAAA= , &BteyAAA= to overheat.

    If you start with 40% you can start directly with &BvKtAAA= , &BteyAAA=, &BlqnAAA=, &BhmkAAA= and end with &BvKtAAA=.

    You can use &BptUAAA= to survive &Bil7AAA= (Green). &Bp1UAAA= to CC  .

    Start each phase with &BsAWAAA=,&BjMXAAA= for additional conditions on the boss.

    Use &BrOkAAA= inside the hit box of if all three Seekers are close enough to to get multiple hits on .

    Seeker

    You can use &BrUWAAA= or &BgoYAAA= to keep Seekers away from the group. &BnQXAAA= and &BjMXAAA= can be used for additional .

    &BrEWAAA= slows down Seekers additionally.

    If you are tanking in the middle in Phase 3, use &BrUWAAA= shortly after returns to push the spawning seekers out of the group.

     

     

    Splitphase

    Be careful not to start too early, as the Guardians are invulnerable shortly after spawning. You should go to either to the green or blue guard.

    Use &Bp1UAAA= for CC. If necessary, you can contribute additional CC by using &BgoYAAA= and &BrUWAAA=.

    Be careful when you place your &BrUWAAA= so you don’t push the spirits, that appear after the CC Phase, out of the group.

    Use &BrOkAAA= shortly after the spirits appear to get multiple hits on .

    Depending on the rotation and phase length, it can be useful to be caught in an egg in the final phase, as this resets your holomode.

    Split Phase

    Use &BnQXAAA=, &BrEWAAA=, &BjMXAAA=, or all explosions to slow down the spirits in the split phase.

    Do not hold back any damage during the split phase and use all your skills to make this phase go by as fast as possible.

    Using &BvKtAAA=, &BteyAAA= and &BrIWAAA= you can quickly transfer onto the spirits.

    Use &BrOkAAA= in the middle of the hit box when there are multiple ads nearby to get as many hits on as possible.

    As Holosmith you can easily take over a cannon. You can either kill it completely in holo mode if you start with 0%. Or by using the Bomb Kit, Grenade Kit and &BgkYAAA=, &BgoYAAA=.

    However, you should not use or overheat your &BlqnAAA=.

    Use &BtWnAAA= or &BnUXAAA= to get mechanics out or back in faster.

    Exit Holo mode or stop your rotation completely when enters the CC phase. Try to continue or even restart your burst rotation after the CC Phase is over.

    &BsAWAAA= can be used for additional when the slublings have been pulled near your group.

    It is important that you save all your CC skills you can, so that you can contribute as much CC as possible.     Use Grenade &Bq8WAAA=, &BrEWAAA=, &Bq4WAAA= when you are on the grenade kit for the first time to make them do more damage with the signet DMG buff.

    During the main battle, watch for the signet (about every 60-65 seconds) and delay your burst a little so that you can use your entire burst in further signet phases.

     

    Main Fight

    Using &BptUAAA= you can bypass the fatal damage caused by &Bu2SAAA=.

    Use &BgkYAAA= or &BjMXAAA= for additional CC on the Pride Spirits.

    If is in a black field, you can either continue your rotation normally, as all skills have a large range, or you must switch to the Grenade Kit.

    Be careful not to activate &BnUXAAA= when a black field is about to appear, as you are momentarily trapped in an animation.

    If possible, always try to hit and Saul D’allesio with all your attacks. For this you can simply stand between both. In most cases your range will be enough to attack both of them.

    You can activate &BrOkAAA= inside the hitbox of when the hands are near, as they count as enemies to be able to hit 5 times.

    During the split phases, you should not hold back any damage and use your full burst and not stop your rotation!

    While you are being pulled into by you can attack with all your Grenade Kit skills. If you don’t have 75% heat, you can use this time to quickly generate 75% heat so that

    Start with 0% heat, so you can generate up to 75% heat on the first arm . Overheat on the second arm and use all skills except &BhmkAAA=.

    This will start the DPS phase with 0% heat and allow you to do your Holo mode rotation up to 75%. At this point there should be swords on the boss and you can start your burst rotation.

    It is important to note that depending on your speed, if you are on the Grenade Kit for the first time, use &Bq8WAAA= , &BrEWAAA= and &Bq4WAAA= to temporarily increase your burst.

    Use &Bp1UAAA= or &BgoYAAA= to break the of the shields.

    If you need heat while waiting for the double arm strike of , you can use &BhmmAAA= to generate heat and break all nearby shields at the same time!

    As you can collect one or two swords or shields without losing much DPS, as all your skills in the Bomb Kit and Grenade Kit can be activated without having to look at the boss.

    Use &Bp1UAAA= and &BgoYAAA= for quick CC on the Champions.

    Use &BhmmAAA= during tje Destroyer when all three Destroyers are near the group to cc’en.

    You can use your full burst rotation at the beginning, as all skills will be ready again once the DPS phase begins.

    Make sure you run to a Pyre with 0% heat, so you can use your Holo mode up to 75% to deal heavy damage to the Pyre. Do not use &BhmkAAA= or &BlqnAAA= as you will want to keep them for .

    Lamp

    A can easily handle the first two lamps on its own if desired.
    For this, use especially &BvKtAAA=, &BrIWAAA=, &BnUXAAA=, &BlqnAAA= and your &BiyuAAA= because all three skills have a wide AoE range and you can almost always hit all enemies at once.

    For the rabbits and Karkas it is enough to spam &BtIWAAA=.

    You can use &BhmmAAA=, especially for veteran enemies so that they get knocked down first and cannot attack you for a short time.

    Activate &BptUAAA= in case of emergency, if you realize you might die immediately.

    Main Fight

    Start with 75% heat in each DPS phase and try to run your normal rotation.

    For &BrOkAAA= go to the hitbox of for one second when the enemies are in range, so that you get all hits on .
    Only do this if you know A that your can heal you directly and B that you are not going to go downstate on a field tick under .

    Use &Bp1UAAA= and &BgoYAAA= for additional CC.

    Be sure to enable &BrUWAAA= as early as possible, or you may be in danger of knocking enemies away from the boss.
